The Unaccompanied Soul

Last week, I was searching around for good fics to read (even though I already have an unread list a mile long) when I came across this story on fanfiction.net. The summary written by the author was very intriguing:

An old, dilapidated hospital residing in the outskirts of Forks, WA sits untouched, yet it’s the focus of many tales, including one of a young man who resides there. He’s believed to be either ghost or murderer. But it’s all just tales, right?

Of course, I plunged right in.

I finished all the chapters up of this story (there were 14 when I started) in about an hour and half. I could not stop reading this. This is so unlike anything I’ve read before, and I just HAD to know what was going to happen.

Summary: Bella’s friends convince her to go with them to the abandoned spooky hospital to look for the ghost rumored to haunt the place. When she is separated from the rest of the group, she is confronted by a beautiful green eyed man (the “ghost”) who is too frightened to speak to her, or even come near her. Bella knows she should tell someone about the boy living alone, but she is intrigued about where he came from, why he’s there, and what happened in his past to completely him.

I have never been more disappointed that a fic wasn’t finished by the time I found it. An update came today and even though I had pee like a racehorse, I read the entire chapter before I went to the bathroom.

Just a warning though. This story is totes angst central. This story contains remembrance of some abuse, so if that kind of stuff bothers you, then proceed with caution.

There are no lemons yet (Bella has only just now been able to brush fingers with Edward and not have him freak out), but I am optimistic. Plus, the author JMCullen09 has rated her blog for the story with adult content on blogger, so I’m pretty excited. I’m really interested to read the progression of Bella and Edward’s relationship with such a huge hurdle to get over together.
