I was first drawn to this story by the title alone. It sounded very intriguing, and I just had to see what it was about. The summary read:
Senator Edward Cullen is the handsome scion of the Cullen family. A playboy’s playboy, he is taken with an intern in his office, Bella Swan. She is untouchable for many reasons, and he’s in a tough re-election battle with Jacob Black. AH,M Adult Content
Um, Senator Edward? Intern Bella? And Jacob is a jerky political rival? Uh, yes please.
Basic plot: Edward Cullen is a senator in Washington with everything hinging on the upcoming election. Not only is his career depending on this but his family is counting on him too, especially Alice and Rosalie, who have positions on his staff.
Isabella Cullen is a political intern who was attracted to work for Edward’s office based on his politics. Of course, his looks don’t hurt either. Special feelings, especially the ones that happen in the pants, develop, but their relationship is hindered by Edward’s obligations to his position. Obviously, a torrid sexual affair with a young intern who works for him is off limits.
To complicate things, her former boyfriend Jacob Black is Edward’s rival in the election. Finding out who Bella is working for doesn’t make him want to play fair.
Getting updates from this story is always a favorite part of my day. It’s sexy, it’s sweet, and it’s funny. Also, I can’t lie. I love the fact that Jacob is such a nasty villain in this story. It makes it easier to hate his character here, and also that much easier to root for Edward.
