My reaction after I saw the ring can best be summed up by this:

Dudes, I just don’t even know where to begin here.

First of all, here’s a disclaimer, because I have had a BUTT LOAD of new people visiting the site due to THIS post that has been shared all over the internet, and as I’m typing right now, has been viewed over 4,000 times since Friday. I truly appreciate all the new visitors (*waves to all the newbies reading right now*) and I hope you stick around!

But some people out there seem to think that I wrote it, and since the little captions aren’t all that flattering to Edward, a few people are laboring under the impression that I am Team Jacob. And they are irate about that.

Seriously.

I didn’t write it, not at all, not one little bit. Like I posted at the end of the photos: It came from Jezebel.com, a fuckawesome feminsim blog where I read and comment daily. One of the editors, Dodai, actually has the brilliant mind that came up with it. So if you are pissed about the jokes making fun of Edward…

…Ya know, I was about to say that if you are honestly pissed about the Edward jokes, then you should take it up with her. But then I realized that some people out there WILL ACTUALLY do that, and then she will hate me forever for siccing crazy Twi hards on her. So no. No one do that.

My advice is if you are seriously mad about the Edward jokes, then please get off the internet and reflect on your life. Honestly. Go do your algebra homework before it’s due in 3rd period tomorrow or something.

And just so we are clear, I am a proud member of Team Edward.Let me repeat that, just so there is no further confusion. WHITLEY IS TEAM EDWARD. Here’s a gif I have saved on my computer to prove it.

Are we good? Alright then. Moving on to the ring business.

I don’t know about you, but I grew up in the 90′s. I was born in 1988, so I actually remember when the wardrobe on Saved By The Bell was the epitome of cool. I really looked forward to being a grown up so I could finally dress like Jessie Spano. I feel proud when looking back and I realize I was able to witness the greatness that was early 90′s pop culture.

Anyway, one of my favorite cartoons back then was a little show you may have heard of called Captain Planet. I watched that show almost religiously and I think I even had a few toys based off items the planet savin’ super heroes used on the show.

Anyone remember these?

Captain Planet rings were instantly remembered when I saw Bella’s engagement ring. So, while I don’t find that even remotely romantic, I do find it awesome, and I suppose I can thank Stephenie and Summit’s costume/prop designer for that at least.

It’s just that…so many things have been wrong in the transfer from print to film with these movies. No blood typing scene in Twilight, no “My life was a moonless night…” speech in New Moon, the look of Jasper’s entire freaking character is fucked, they couldn’t keep the damn Volvo silver for the rest of the Saga…But this. This uggo ring design gets re-created EXACTLY how it’s described in the book. Amazing.

As Eclipse Movie points out, in terms of going by the book, the ring is spot on.

“Nestled into the black satin, Elizabeth Masen’s ring sparkled in the dim light. The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold — delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.”

Stephenie Meyer even worked with the company now selling the ring while they were designing it so it could look exactly how she imagined.

For a lot of fans, this ring design is not their favorite. I am definitely counted among them. All I can say is I will try not to cringe too much when Edward whips it out (heh heh) during the movie.

Rob’s face in that one? I freaking die. He has such a sexy smolder.

Those lips and that jaw! Before Rob, I had never been turned on by a guy’s jaw before. Hell, I didn’t even really remember that they HAD jaws. Now after Rob, I would love to create some art to express how that jaw makes me feel.

Wow. Just wow. I am loving everything about this picture. I always wonder why these outtakes never make the magazine.

The LA Times visited the New Moon set a few months ago and took some breathtaking shots that they finally posted to their website today. I’m not lying when I say these pictures are so beautiful they are nearly overwhelming. I would really like to full-on tounge kiss who ever it was that took these.

Both of them, in the same frame? *thud*

Excuse me, I seem to have swallowed my tounge.

My heart stopped when I saw the one above, no lie. Edward in Bella’s bed?! And in what looks like a crazy dream sequence?!! YES PLEASE!!

*chanting to myself* He’s 17. He is freakin’ 17. He’s 17.

Just hold on until February. Just a few more months. Just a few more months.

And now, my most favorite picture of the bunch. Quite possibly my most favorite picture yet.

This one is so beautiful and sad to me that I actually got tears in my eyes when first saw it.

I was too busy swooning over this picture earlier and I didn’t have time to read the article that it came from. I’m glad I finally did, because it gives LOTS of New Moon info and…I don’t know if it’s because it’s that time of the month or something, but…the first paragraph made me cry (highlights and italics mine).

Robert Pattinson is having an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment. Inside a soundstage where “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is shooting, the lanky English heartthrob stands in front of a tall, wide green screen murmuring a tender admonition, “You promised me nothing reckless.” (OMG SOB!) Motion capture cameras hurtle toward him across a length of track affixed to the stage floor, while a team of technicians studies his stance and the tilt of his head.

I can already tell that I will be practically sobbing when I watch this movie the first time. To who ever sits by me for the midnight showing, I apologize in advance. I will try to keep it down, and yes, I’m bringing tissues.

The LA Times article can get a teensy bit spoiler-y, so those of you trying to remain pure: beware. Those of you like me who are gobbling up every detail, enjoy the costume and set descriptions of Italy!
