Sweet Fan Fic Recommendation: A World Without Sound

Earlier this week, I needed something to read to make myself sleepy so I googled, “Twilight fan fic”. I found a lot of stories and started reading the first few chapters of a few just to get a feel for them and see if I liked them (I’m very picky about my fan fiction). I really liked the title of this one, so I clicked into it and settled down to read.

I was crying by the middle of the first chapter.

A little backstory for this fic: Edward and Bella have grown up together as best friends since childhood. Edward is deaf. These two are closer than close, spending nearly every waking moment together and kind of in their own little world, since they are usually the only ones around each other who know sign language. Bella also takes karate, so she can beat the fuck out of people who talk shit about Edward.

Those of you that hate all human fan fic, PLEASE give this one a shot. I promise you won’t regret it. In fact, I’m going to go ahead and say this one is better than Wide Awake. Heck yes, I went there. I fully believe this story could be published and be loved by the people who enjoy Nicholas Sparks and similar writers. It’s that kind of sweet love story that makes you think about your own relationships and be grateful for them. This story is defintely on my top 5 list and I can’t see anything knocking it off ever.

This story is so freaking amazing. I cannot say that enough. The Bella and Edward in this story are WAY closer and have a much bigger connection than the E and B in your average fan fic. I loved the way this story was written because it would discuss something that happened in the present, then Bella would have a flashback to a moment from when they were best friends as kids, and this really let you in as a reader on how strong their relationship is and how it blossomed. (For those of you that have read this, the part where young Bella lets Edward be her prince in the fairytale game, and the part where she plays house with him and the baby doll, I CRIED!)

There are lemons in this story (hot, sweet lemons!) but that is not the fundamental plot (and don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with those stories, I love them myself. This is just different). This one is more focused on the love between them, and for me that just makes the sex scenes that much hotter.

This one IS actually completed, so feel free to start right away! Be warned though, I overslpet and missed class the next morning after staying awake all night to read this. It was that good, and I just couldn’t stop. I read through the exhaustion.

So in conclusion, this one is a tear jerker, but also a feel good story. It gets you right there in the heartstings, and I promise you will love this one. If you have read this, or once you do, PLEASE leave your thoughts in the comments because I am absolutely dying to discuss this with y’all.

When you are done with that and needing more (and you WILL), there is a sequel with seven chapters up, but it is currently on hiatus. Still very worth the read, and I’m yearning for updates on this one as well.
